As a key player in the InterPED consortium, FIRE is hosting transformative workshops at Findhorn Ecovillage to optimize local renewable energy consumption and enhance community engagement. The project is set to unfold over the next three years, enriching both the community and the environment.
The initiative kicked off with a vibrant town hall meeting where 32 residents gathered to shape the future of their energy systems. This marks the beginning of a series of participatory workshops aimed at integrating community insights into the project.
Collaborating closely with Heriot-Watt University, FIRE is pioneering a participatory approach to develop sustainable energy solutions that resonate with community values. The upcoming workshops in September will further this engagement:
- 20th September (2:30 PM – 5:30 PM): The “Shared Imaginaries” workshop aims to forge a unified vision for the Park as a Positive Energy District, drawing from local stakeholders’ insights.
- 21st September (10:30 AM – 6:00 PM): The “Our Energy Journey” workshop focuses on operationalizing the visions crafted previously, exploring practical pathways and community-driven solutions like Demand Response for sustainable living.
These workshops will not only refine the InterPED platform but also bolster Findhorn’s larger sustainability goals.
Stay tuned for more workshops and updates!
