Participation of InterPED in Sustainable Places 2024

R2M, as InterPED project coordinator and co-organiser of the conference Sustainable Places (SP), will present the project during a Workshop titled: “Empowering Cities Through Positive Energy Districts: Strategies and Implementation”.

SP2024 will be held over three days, from the 23rd to the 25th of September, in a hybrid format (online plus physical), with the in-person event taking place in Luxembourg. Between opening and closing keynote sessions, parallel technical sessions and project-organised workshops will explore all the conference themes.

Each year, SP features a wide variety of topics on how to shape cities and the environment in order to become more sustainable, taking into consideration the world events that occurred. These topics usually reflect priorities described in the European Commission Societal Challenges and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Some of the topics that will be addressed this year include: energy communities and smart cities, renewable energy technologies, climate change mitigation and adaptation, as well as policy and finance to facilitate the energy transition, many of them aligned with the BRIDGE initiative and the working groups’ themes.

Sustainable Places constitutes an ideal opportunity for the dissemination of research, EU project clustering, and networking between stakeholders of all types. In addition to the workshops, the conference will also host the Built4People Stakeholder Forum, allowing the participation of many profiles of experts from the building environment. Moreover, SP2024 will partner with Open Research Europe (ORE), enabling the publication of research articles in the  Horizon open-access platform.
