From October 30 to November 2, 2024, the “Mihajlo Pupin” Institute (IMP) represented the InterPED project at the 21st CIGRE Serbia Symposium, in Vrnjačka Banja. This prestigious annual event, part of the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE), brought together energy experts from Serbia, the region, and the EU to discuss innovations and sustainability in power systems, with a focus on digitalization and energy efficiency.
During the symposium, IMP presented InterPED as a leading example of how advanced energy management systems can contribute to the development of Positive Energy Districts (PEDs). These innovative solutions are integral to achieving sustainable urban energy systems while improving grid stability and reducing carbon footprints.
In addition to showcasing InterPED, IMP researchers presented seven papers, covering insights from past national and international projects and sharing progress from the R2D2 project. This platform also provided an opportunity to connect with key stakeholders and promote other ongoing EU-funded initiatives, including OMEGA-X and GoToTwin.
Events like CIGRE Serbia are critical for fostering collaboration and advancing cutting-edge research in the energy sector. The symposium highlighted the importance of aligning with European regulations and integrating digital tools like digital twins to enhance grid reliability and sustainability.
InterPED is proud to have been part of this event and to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on sustainable energy solutions.
