In June 2024, Bilbao became the epicenter of innovation in architecture and construction during the DPA Forum 2024. Held on June 5 and 6 at the hotel Silken Indautxu, this annual Innovation Forum in Architecture, Construction, and Rehabilitation brought together over 25 companies and groups to exchange groundbreaking ideas and solutions for the industry. Under the motto “Architecture of the Future: Discovering New Construction Products and Solutions,” the event aimed to propel professionals to the forefront of emerging trends and technologies.
During the two-day forum, approximately 14 companies delivered lectures on materials, techniques, and innovations focused on enhancing energy efficiency in buildings through both active and passive measures. Among these presentations, one of the standout contributions was from Giroa Veolia, who introduced the InterPED project as a prime example of how optimal management of different energy vectors can significantly improve building energy efficiency.
The InterPED project, showcased by Giroa Veolia, highlighted the benefits of integrating various energy sources to achieve a positive energy balance in buildings. The project demonstrated how district heating models, when managed optimally, can contribute to better energy efficiency and sustainability. By leveraging innovative techniques and technologies, InterPED aims to set a benchmark in the energy sector for creating sustainable and efficient urban energy systems.
The DPA Forum 2024 served as a platform for presenting such cutting-edge projects and also facilitated invaluable networking opportunities among experts and leading companies in architecture and construction. Attendees had the chance to engage in discussions, share insights, and explore potential collaborations that could shape the future of the industry.
As the forum concluded, it was evident that events like the DPA Forum are crucial for driving innovation and fostering a community of forward-thinking professionals dedicated to advancing the field of architecture and construction. Among the highlights, the InterPED project stood out as a testament to the potential of innovative energy management solutions in creating sustainable urban environments.
